On-Site Maintenance Engineer

Job description

Responsible for the general upkeep, repair, and maintenance of our facilities, ensuring a safe and well-maintained working environment for our staff and visitors. This role is hands-on and varied, requiring a practical individual with a broad range of maintenance skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks across the site, including repairs to buildings, fixtures, and fittings.
  • Perform basic plumbing, carpentry and decorating work as required.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
  • Install fixtures when needed.
  • Maintain outdoor areas, including minor landscaping, clearing pathways, and general tidiness.
  • Respond promptly to repair requests and emergencies.
  • Liaise with external contractors or suppliers for specialised work.
  • Maintain records of maintenance work and report to the Site/Facilities Manager.
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Proven experience in a similar maintenance role.
  • Broad knowledge of general building maintenance and repair practices.
  • Basic knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to varied tasks.

Skills and qualifications
