Fitter / Rigger
Job description
We are seeking a skilled Fitter / Rigger to join our dynamic team at Allelys. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling and securing loads for transport, ensuring safety and efficiency in our heavy lift operations across various projects. The job will largely involve working in a team, but sometimes activities working alone using your own initiative across a variety of projects.
Key responsibilities
- Set up rigging equipment for lifting operations, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Assemble and secure loads using appropriate rigging techniques and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute lifting operations effectively.
- Inspect rigging equipment before use to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Utilise power tools and hand tools to assist in fabrication and assembly tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of rigging operations and equipment usage.
Key requirements
- Proven experience as a Rigger or in a similar role within the heavy lift or construction industry.
- The candidate must have at least 5 years in the lifting and specialised transport industry.
- The ideal candidate should have CSCS qualifications, experience using FLT, MEWPS and installing/dismantling industrial equipment.
- Any qualifications over and above would be an advantage. Desirable qualifications and experience would include slinger/signaller and overhead crane.
- The role will involve working from both the depot yard and across a number of projects sites. This will be dictated by the requirements of each individual project and may require working away from home for long or short periods of time.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical drawings.
- Proficiency in welding techniques, including stick welding, is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
