Reels for the oil and gas sector

The reels range in weights from 70te to 350te, are over 6m wide and have a maximum diameter of 11.9m. The reels are required to be transported between sites to meet outgoing vessels under strict time restraints.

Two 10 row modular trailers are utilised in a 4-file configuration for each move, along with either 2 or 3 tractor units depending on the weight of each reel.

Engineering support

With the moves being categorised as special orders, Allelys complete all transportations during the night in collaboration with the local council and police force.

Due to each reel having a different centre of gravity, the engineering team supported the project by providing calculations for each lift prior to loading, in addition to the project RAMS.
