Allelys’ AK912 lifts critical infrastructure at Port of Sutton Bridge
Allelys’ AK912 mobile crane returned to the UK market to lift critical infrastructure at Port of Sutton Bridge. This project marked the AK912’s first project lifts since the crane underwent a full refurbishment.
The units, which comprised of two generators and two transformers were lifted from the vessel and loaded onto
a 12 axle, 4 file SPMT. With the AK912 in a 41m main boom configuration, the two generators, which each weighed 365.9te, were lifted first, followed by the two 164te transformers.

Allelys then utilised a 900te gantry system to offload the units from the SPMT onto load spreading mats for temporary storage.
“The crane has undergone a full refurbishment by the expert team at Allelys, which saw every component rigorously checked, tested and replaced where necessary, and now with this phase complete and the state-of-the art control system in place, the crane is entering the market to deliver the precise positioning and alignment of heavy cargo that it’s renown for,”
