Temporary Works Design Engineer

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer to join our busy, fast paced department in Studley. As a Temporary Works Design Engineer you will work on a variety of projects involving abnormal load transportation and installation solutions nationwide.

Key responsibilities

Checking temporary structure designs involving our bespoke equipment including calculations, drawings and design certificates
Conduct structural analysis and calculations of existing equipment to ensure they meet safety and design standards
Design modifications to existing equipment or design new where required
Produce drawings of designs and modifications to suitable standard for manufacture
Obtain or provide pricing for estimating purposes

Skills & qualifications required

BEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
3 years of experience preferably with a mix of site and design office/Design Experience with exposure to Temporary Works Design
Incorporated/chartered with a relevant institution (or in the process achieving such a qualification)
Proficiency in structural analysis and CAD software (e.g. Tekla TEDDS, STAAD Pro and AutoCAD)
Working knowledge of BS 5975 and experience with steelwork and timber Codes
Able to coach and mentor others
Good IT skills- Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point
Full Driving licence

Position reports to: Engineering Director
Location: Studley, Warwickshire
Hours: 40 hours per week
