Operational Delivery

Delivered

Allelys are commitment to continually investing in industry leading equipment to ensure that our fleet incorporates the specialist equipment required for each unique project.
Our large equipment fleet sets us apart from our competitors and enables us to offer a range of solutions for each project scope, overcoming the challenges associated with moving abnormal loads on an ageing road network, and also supporting clients by offering the full factory to foundation service.

Transport

With specialist trailers including SPMTs, girder frames and modular trailers, Allelys are able to provide transport solutions across the UK and Europe. As abnormal and indivisible load specialists, our dedicated team will work closely with each customer, from assisting with the initial enquiry and developing a bespoke solution, through to the project completion.

Transport Fleet

SPMTs, or self-propelled modular transporters, utilise a hydraulic power pack to provide the power to lift, drive and steer. They are primarily used off the public highway to transport very large loads. Due to their manoeuvrability, SPMTs are critical when transporting power plant equipment or civil infrastructure in confined spaces.

Girder frame trailers are usually used on public roads and are designed to transport the load at a lower profile than SPMTs or modular trailers. They also increase the surface area that the gross load is distributed over. These design features enable the transport to travel via routes with height and weight restrictions that could not be overcome with other specialist transport solutions.

Modular trailers are coupled with a tractor unit and are most commonly used for longer distances where there are less height restrictions present. Allelys categorise the fleet of modular trailers into bogies, drawbar/flat top trailers and vessel bed trailers.

Heavy Lift & Installation

Our specialist lifting and installation equipment includes cranes, hydraulic gantries, jacking systems and skidding systems. Allelys own and operate a fleet of mobile cranes ranging from 25te – 1,200te capacity, including some of the largest cranes in the UK. We offer full contract lifting services from initial enquiry and site inspection through to engineering, lift calculation and execution.

With multiple hydraulic lifting systems up to 900te capacity and jacking systems up to 1,500te capacity, our expansive fleet is perfectly positioned to support a range of sectors. Hydraulic lifting systems are particularly beneficial for projects with restricted access, meaning that cranes cannot be used or where installing a permanent overhead structure is not a feasible option. The lifting systems are used in conjunction with skid tracks to lift and skid the load into their final position.

Storage

Allelys support our customers by managing and arranging the temporary storage of critical components – a key task when ensuring the smooth transition between sea and land transportation phases. We’re able to use our knowledge and experience to carefully co-ordinate and plan all aspects required due to the size, weight and value of the cargo.

Our modular bund sections, which can be transported anywhere, are built and sealed to provide a temporary bund solution for up to 2 or 3 transformers, depending on transformer size. This is an ideal and cost-effective solution for when a permanent bund is not available, storage is required at short notice or in emergencies.

We also offer storage options within our secure and monitored facility. Including both indoor and outdoor storage, as well as bunded storage for transformers and reactors.

Case Studies

Each and every project is unique. Our vast service offering and extensive equipment fleet enables us to work on some of the most exciting and challenging projects within the UK. Take a look at a selection of our case studies below.

Allelys have successfully completed the transport and crane lift operation for the installation of a 146te Yankee drying cylinder at Shotton Mill in Flintshire.
Allelys’ AK912 mobile crane returned to the UK market to lift critical infrastructure at Port of Sutton Bridge. This project marked the AK912’s first project lifts since the crane underwent a full refurbishment.
Allelys has successfully delivered a turnkey solution for the transport and installation of critical equipment at the Lostock Sustainable Energy Plant.
Allelys have successfully completed the transport and installation of a 309.5te turbine, 326.1te generator and 221.8te transformer from Newport Docks to Hirwaun Power Station.
