HGV Trailer Mechanic/Fitter
Job description
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our growing team, where you will be maintaining HGV trailers to a safe and road worthy condition within the guidelines of vehicle manufacturers and vehicle operating standards, statutory inspection periods and MOT Dates.
Allelys are one of the largest and most successful abnormal load transport and heavy lift companies in the UK. We move anything from bridge sections to tanks, and everything in between.
Role responsibilities
- Ensuring routine maintenance and inspections are carried out on all trailers
- Working with the team to find faults and repair our trailers
- Following all safety guidelines and procedures as governed by the appropriate authorities
- Take on routine services and maintenance inspections on our trailers
- Carrying out all work within a clean environment
Qualifications & experience required
- Full driving licence -HGV C+E licence desirable
- Experience of working with heavy good vehicles
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
- Experience of inspections, maintenance and repairs of a range of vehicles and trailers
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
Salary & hours
- Standard hours £15 per hour
- Overtime £22.50 per hour
40 hours per week + Saturday 08:00 – 13:00 + overtime as required
